“It was all about staying cool... and making it last! The ENC 2013 farewell party at the Bruker suite was the place to be at Asilomar...”
The evening began with a relaxing dessert, a choice of mouth-watering cakes and more tasty freshly-made crépes, served with a quality espresso. Yes, we were spoiling you… but who really ever says no to chocolate?
With the final talks of this year’s very successful conference ending late we were keen to make sure as many of you as possible would get the chance to win our traditional Thursday night prize.
Delaying the ‘draw’ gave many of you that last chance to quickly drop in an entry form, or simply enough extra time to get to the suite. You have to be at the draw to be able to take away the prize – and it’s clear that no-one wanted to miss out!
The welcome finish to the conference meant a lot of coffee and sweet treats for those who made it early, but the biggest smile was left to our winner.
With Anna Kuznetsova of the University of Florida to thank for randomly picking his entry form, Chih-Hong Chen from the City of Hope National Medical Center (National Cancer Center) in California, was the lucky winner of our brand new MacBook Pro.
From here the band took over, the beer and wine flowed, and the party mood took off.
We’re glad so many of you enjoyed the last night with us. The action was indoors and outdoors – do you want to dance or chill in the breeze?
Even the reliable Bruker foosball table had its moment!
The band really stepped up to the challenge of rocking the night away – as did many familiar faces, who danced and drank until 1.00am.
Thank you to everyone who helped make our events, and the Bruker suite, a great place to be this year. See you in 2014!
