ISMRM comes face to face with history

2013 saw the prestigious international conference arrive in Salt Lake City, in Utah state. The International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine attracts thousands of specialists from all over the world.

At the exhibition this year Bruker made the most of its recently introduced new platform that enables even easier access to the latest news, products and interactive exhibits. The welcoming, open design attracted a lot of traffic as many delegates were keen to discover our newest innovations.

Mat’s engaging delivery quickly introduced everyone to the latest products and technology. Starting with a major software – ParaVision 6.0, the next generation of software for MR acquisition and processing for preclinical and material research, Mat highlighted its new accelerated intuitive workflow, its now unmatched portfolio of application packages, and comprehensive tool portfolio.

With so many new features and additions to the software – from network to method development – Mat could only offer a quick overview. (For more details click here).

Highlighted the latest AVANCE III HD MRI technology, and the array MRI CryoProbe, Mat ended with a look to the future, including an update on our pioneering MPI technology.

And then, more refreshments and some excellent cuisine appeared, to the resplendent sounds of our professional jazz trio, led by the local favorite and jazz afficionado, Jerry Floor. Jerry is the Director of Utah’s International Jazz Festival, with involvement in many more festivals across America.

The trio’s performances were highly appreciated by everyone, we were delighted to hear so many of your positive, appreciative comments on the night. Jerry was also delighted to entertain such an active crowd.

The mood quickly settled for some relaxed fun, and it wasn’t long before, whichever way you looked, someone was over at the interactive exhibits, finding themselves engrossed in the production of an earthquake, or the unravelling of a protein!

Getting hands-on!

The building’s multiple levels served as a natural channel for everyone to flow comfortably through the engaging exhibits and interactive facilities.

This is how we discovered that we were not alone… and came face-to-face with some very famous local residents.

NHMU's dinosaur

NHMU’s dinosaur exhibits are world class, and a key exhibit in a sequence of snapshots in time spanning 500 million years of Utah’s ancient environments and their changing life forms.

Finally, with some sweet dessert treats served on the remaining upper floor, and with access to the museum’s amazing balcony that overlooks the entire city of Salt Lake, it was a chance to watch the sun set on a wonderful evening.
