The long established tradition of the Monday night meeting went under water this year!
Not that anyone got their feet wet! 380 specially invited scientists and industry experts joined Bruker at the famous Melbourne Aquarium for a unique evening of oysters, drinks and informative talks.
After the welcome mixer Wulf I. Jung, Managing Director of Bruker BioSpin MRI GmbH, set the scene with a warm introduction and some news on changes within the global MRI team.
It was announced that after 30 years with Bruker, Roy Gordon has decided to leave the company to pursue other personal interests. Roy took the opportunity to say a few words to the countless faces he has known at ISMRM for many years.
The appointment of Andrew Lonergan as Northern Europe Sales MRI Manager and Mat Brevard as Sales Manager for North America was also highlighted.
With Bruker’s expansion in Asia, currently the most dynamic market, Wulf introduced George Tang, General Manager of Singapore office, who was ideally placed to provide a key insight into the region.
George also presented the most recent business and technology developments from the Bruker MRI team.
These included the new BioSpec 152/11, and the recent acquisition of Skyscan that has expanded our product portfolio even further towards multimodality with the new Micro CT product range.
George also presented Bruker’s developments in the field of MPI, before sharing with the audience the fantastic resolution of some scans that have been made using MRI CryoProbes.
The excellent food and drinks were enjoyed by all – and the rather cool Oyster Bar certainly went down well. Perhaps the relaxing atmosphere provided by the unusual setting and the sounds of the great jazz band was particularly to blame for the late end to the evening.
We hope everyone had a great time and we are already looking forward to welcoming you in Salt Lake City next year.
