A new ultra-high field magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanner for preclinical research

Vanderbilt to Research New Imaging Applications at Ultra-High-Field

“New ultra-high field MRI scanner for preclinical research opens new frontiers in molecular and microscopic imaging”

A new ultra-high field magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanner for preclinical research will open new frontiers in molecular and microscopic imaging. Based on proven 15.0 Tesla shielded refrigerated USR™ magnet technology, already installed in several Bruker FT- mass spectrometry customer laboratories, this new MRI system takes advantage of the intrinsically high signal-to-noise ratio and enhanced contrast mechanisms at high fields. Leveraging the concurrent development of the first 15 Tesla MRI CryoProbe™ for high resolution neuroimaging, the  BioSpec® 150/11 system will particularly enable new research on in vivo molecular events.
